Resolution
In Loving Memory of Sultan Ahmad

WE, the Board of Trustees Members of the National Alumni Association of the Black Panther Party want the family to know we are saddened to have loss this soldier and our hearts are with you and the greater Philadelphia community as we gather to say so long to our honored comrade and brother Sultan, who believed in supporting the uplifting of Black people.

WHEREAS, Sultan Ahmad as a young man established an outstanding reputation and street creds as a businessman in Philadelphia, helping to uplift and not knock down as he traveled life roadways.  There are many who have advanced from his fatherly wisdom and knowledge as a businessman and a “stickler for details”.

WHEREAS, Sultan Ahmad joined the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense in North Philadelphia in 1969 where he ascended as the Captain of the Chapter before leaving to serve in Oakland California, where he led and managed the historic campaign of Chairman Bobby Seale in his bid to become the first Black Mayor of Oakland California.

AND WHEREIN, Sultan Ahmad was a founding and charter member of the National Alumni Association of the Black Panther Party in 2011, which was chartered in Philadelphia PA. He served as the second President of the Alumni Association for two terms.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we embrace the Ahmad family because all of us share a common bond that will connect us for the rest of our lives, The Spirit of Brother Sultan.   We cannot replace Brother Sultan; however, we can and will continue to demonstrate his love for family and community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a period of official mourning will be observed for 30 days by the setting aside of a special seat at the Board of Trustees Meeting to acknowledge the passing of our beloved Comrade Brother and President emeritus, Sultan Ahmad.

To the family of Sultan Ahmad, we know your hearts are heavy and your sorrow is great, but we want you to know that we share in your sorrow, but more importantly, we recognize that this loss is Heaven’s gain.

Humbly, submitted on this 29th day of November, 2021 The Officers and Members of the National Alumni Association of the Black Panther Party (NAABPP) National President Paula Peebles.

THE BOARD AND MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY (NAABPP) WISHES TO EXPRESS OUR SINCERELY SADNESS WITH THE PASSING OF VETERAN PANTHER, SULTAN AHMAD.  HE WAS A DEVOUT SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE.
